THE PERU PROJECT:
In the summer of 2011 I had the opportunity to join a club called The Peru Project which sent students to an impoverished village in Peru to build greenhouses. Due to their high altitude environment, Peruvians are restricted to growing only root vegetables such as potatoes and certain grains. The inhabitants face the danger of malnutrition everyday, and a single greenhouse can significantly alter their situation in a positive direction.
During this time in Peru I not only had the chance to enrich these Peruvians' lives, but had the opportunity to capture an honest and grounded culture free of materialization, where having less is more.
